Process Management

Industrial Engineering* (accreditation in preparation)
Speciality in Process Management*

Typically, responsibility is distributed across a number of areas within a company. Leaders are knowledgeable predominantly within their own fields and are able (or permitted) to optimise and make decisions for these areas only.

Consequently, there are often interface problems, and sometimes divergent, or even contradictory, objectives. This is where process management comes into play, as it is able to take on responsibility for the entire process and its optimisation, as well as solve interface problems.

Parameters

Industrial Engineers who have specialised in Process Management are equipped to view complex technical systems holistically, and can analyse technical processes and procedures from the perspective of business management and cost optimisation. This is of central importance in the era of global economic interconnectivity, ever-shorter product life cycles and increasing international competition for market position.

Qualification Goals

The Process Management specialisation of the dual Industrial Engineering bachelor degree programme* consists of comprehensive training in mechanical engineering and business administration, complemented by the foundations of information technology and electrical engineering.

Combining in-depth study of automation, industrial engineering, process and production simulation, as well as supply chain management and soft skills, the programme builds the basis for a broad professional spectrum, from specialisation through to project and operational leadership.

Fields of Application Professional areas:

  • Development, production and maintenance management of technical facilities and products.
  • Technical sales management and marketing.
  • Quality and supply chain management in production operations.
  • Analysis, definition, optimisation, simulation and implementation of production processes.
  • Production and operational leadership and consulting.
  • Controlling in technical specialist areas.
